NBA notes - 1/13/2007

Suns played a close one today against the Magic. It was one of those usual Suns game where they are up by 15 in the third, but the game is almost tied up late in the fourth. The Magic could have actually tied it up a couple of times, but the Suns dodged the bullet and put them away at the end. Apparently Dwight Howard has problems playing against the Suns and he had another bad game today. Suns were led by Boris Diaw who had a near triple-double with 19-9-11. Jameer Nelson had a great third quarter, but was not enough. Suns have now won 9 in a row now.

T-Mac had 37 to offset Ron-Ron's 34 and Houston won a interesting 115-111 game in Sacto. Corliss Williamson had a flashback night with 30-12. T-Mac also had 9 assists and is carrying the team now. They are getting great contributions from everybody like Battier, Juwan Howard, Mutombo, Rafer Alston and even Luther Head. It's amazing how the game is so easy for everybody when they play around a stud like T-Mac.

Washington was no match for San Antonio proving they still have a long way to go before being considered to be any kind of contenders. Cleveland had a good road win at the Clips. The King had 28-10-10. Miami won again at Utah on a back-to-back. Wade had a ridiculous assist to Zo and another circus shot on a 3-point play tonight. He has a couple of those circus shots every night. He had an amazing 360 spin in the air and basket yesterday against the Warriors. He scored 32 points on 5 made baskets because he had 23 free throws! Thats way too much. Nobody "uglifies" the game quite like the Jazz. The teams combined for 99 foul shots. Booze was strong once again with 29-14, but the Jazz have lost 3 straight and 5 of 10. The ship is a little unstable right now though they still have a 4 game lead in the division.

Wasington @ San Antonio -80-93
Orlando @ Phoenix - 101-107
Miami @ Utah - 119-110
Cleveland @ LA Clippers - 104-92
Houston @ Sacramento - 115-111

Interesting games on the board for the Jan 14-th (Sunday)

Nowitzki and AI are on display, but no great games.
