NBA notes - 1/04/2007

Happy New Year. I had taken a week or so off for the holidays. Some interesting developments during that time. Dallas is rolling again. They have won 12 straight for the second time this year including a close win against the Suns. Suns are doing great themselves. Tough, close road wins for the Suns at Chicago and Toronto. Pat Riley is on a leave of absence for medical reasons. Gilbert Arenas had a great month of December. Gil won a game yesterday against the Bucks on an amazingly long three pointer! He just dribbled up-court, pulled up and shot a long 3 from way beyond the top of the key and didn't even see it go in. Just turned around and walked away knowing fully well it's going in. He is now throwing a wild birthday party which has also become a big news.

Kobe is having a great season again. With Lamar and Kwame injured, number 24 is carrying a bigger load in addition to playing better team ball this season. This means he is almost going for 40, 10 and 10 every night. He might be challenging Nash for the MVP honors by the end of the season a(long with Lebron probably). Right now, Nash looks every bit like the 3-time MVP. He is even better than the last 2 years if you can believe that!

LA Lakers @ Sacramento – 132-128

Interesting games on the board for the Jan 5-th (Friday)

Dallas @ San Antonio – Dallas is on a roll and San Antonio looks like it's a notch below. This might be a bigger game for San Antonio than Dallas. Thats saying something because it's usually the other way around when the Spurs are involved.

Miami @ Phoenix – Could be a good one if Wade suits up. Phoenix should win anyways.

Denver @ LA – Kobe VS AI is always worth the price of admission.

Cleveland @ Milwaukee – Consistency is what we are looking for here from the Cavs.
