Suns disappoint - NBA notes - 02/28/2007

Suns blew one big-time today. They had an unique opportunity to win all 15 road games against the other conference (L-East) for the first time in the history of the game and they lost the 15-th and final game against the lowly Philadelphia! They now end the Eastern road trip 14-1! They didn't have Marion and Diaw today and Bell and Barbosa combined to shoot 5/17 from 3 and 9/32 overall to throttle the Suns offense. Only Nash and Stoudemire showed up and the Suns scored only 94 points. Anything less than 100 points usually means a loss for the Suns and the Sixers won even without any spectacular individual performances. The Suns never led in this game and this game probably shows how important Marion is to this team. He should feel happy tonight :-) Amare still had 31-14 and Nash, 23-5-9.

Miami won a road game behind Shaq's 23-10 against a depleted Wizards team. Gil shot 3-18 and this is becoming a daily story now. Toronto won at Houston today even without a strong showing by C-Bosh. They had balanced scoring and a good shooting night. Bargnani is amazing! He had 20 points on 8-12 shooting with 4-5 from the 3. This guy does look more and more like a young Nowitzki. T-Mac couldn't get it done today against eh Raptors. Denver won behind a strong night for AI. The guy can still have a 34-7-4 night any day of the week. Melo had 23 and a decent win for the Nuggets against an Orlando team thats struggling.

Boozer was truly back today with a 24-16 night against the Grizz. This was his routine before he got hurt and he might be back to that level soon. Knicks lost at Boston without Jamal Crawford who might be out for the season. Heat, Nets, Knicks and the Magic are all bunched up for the Eastern playoff spots 7 thru 10. Sacramento won a high-scoring game at home. Kevin Martin is enjoying Ron Artest's absence :-) He had 36 points today to go with Bibby's 30. Martin is the new fan favorite at Sacto and they better start re-building around him. He is not a super-star, but a good scorer to have on your team, especially when he is cheap.

Phoenix @ Philadelphia - 94-99
Toronto @ Houston - 106-90
Orlando @ Denver - 101-111

Interesting games on the board for Mar 1-st (Thursday)

Cleveland @ Dallas - Big match-up on paper, but I expect Dallas to blow the Cavs out.
